Selma police make a third arrest in connection with a rash of shootings that left two people dead and two others injured.
Lt. Sam Miller says Clarence Brenson was captured by police Tuesday afternoon in the Sardis community of Dallas County.
Miller says Brenson is charged with Attempted Murder in connection with a shooting on the 2100 block of Church Street where a man was shot in the back. Fredrick Tucker and Glentavious Olds have also been arrested and charged in the shooting.
Miller says investigators got a tip that Brenson was at a residence on the 7000 block of County Road 62. He says when Brenson saw police — he ran out of the back door of the residence — and took off running into the woods.
“We gave a brief chase through the woods and actually found him hiding in a trailer, another family member’s trailer. They came out and told us he was inside. We went inside and took him into custody,” said Miller.
Brenson is being held in the Dallas County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
Police are still searching for Antonio Whatley and Alfred Parnell. If you have information concerning either of their whereabouts call police at (334) 874-2125.
