Trojan volleyball welcomes Peach State competition this weekend

TROY, Ala. ( – The Troy volleyball team hosts Georgia Southern and Georgia State for a pair of weekend matchups at Trojan Arena. The Trojans face Georgia Southern on Friday night at 6 p.m. and will battle Georgia State on Sunday at noon.

Troy (6-16, 0-5 Sun Belt) looks to snap a season-long 12-match losing streak. The Trojans dropped a four set match against Florida A&M on Tuesday night, but had many players shine.

•  Logan Page has continued her strong play and has had back-to-back matches with at least seven kills and four blocks. She added to that total with 10 kills on Tuesday night and picked up a career-high six total blocks.

• Against Florida A&M, Reina Terry recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 44 assists and 10 digs. It was her 21st career double-double. The 44 assists also is a career-high for Terry when playing in a four set match.

• Friday night against Georgia Southern will be “Greek Night” and the fraternity or sorority that has the most people sign for their house will receive a $500 donation, courtesy of Troy volleyball.

•  Georgia Southern (10-9, Sun Belt 3-1) has won three straight matches against Sun Belt opponents after having due postponed due to inclement weather. The Eagles are led by Katie Bange, who has 221 kills and a .306 attack percentage, which is eighth best in the Sun Belt.


  •  Georgia State (7-10, Sun Belt 3-3) has won three out of its last four, with its only loss coming to Coastal Carolina, who leads the East Division. Kristina Stinson and Eliza Zachary are tied with 134 kills, a team-high.
