Troy volleyball to host South Alabama
TROY, Ala. (troytrojans.com) – The Troy volleyball team opens its final week of home matches against in-state rival South Alabama on Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
The Trojans (6-20, 0-9 Sun Belt) return to Trojan Arena for the first of the final three home matches and prepares for an ESPN3 match with the Jaguars.
Last time the two teams faced each other, the Jaguars won a three set match. For the Trojans, Symone Shaw led the way with eight kills and a .222 attack percentage. Troy hit .333 in the first set of that match.
• The Trojans lead their opponents in digs and are averaging 13.8 digs per set. Alisha Hinrichs and Bethany Cullity have a combined 555 digs and are averaging just under three digs per set. Hinrichs has a team-high 316 digs, while freshman Cullity has 239.
• Bethany Cullity has a combined 69 digs over the last four matches, including a career-high 24 digs against Little Rock on October 21st.
• Logan Page and Sara Landis have a combined 50 total blocks against Sun Belt competition. Page leads the way with 28 and Landis has totaled 22.
