Welcome to South University's Montgomery campus. We are eager to share information about our facilities, programs, and services.

South University's Montgomery campus is located on the rapidly growing east side of the city. The campus is a short distance from Interstate 85 and Eastern Boulevard on the commercial, academic and cultural corridor of greater Montgomery. Our facility, constructed in 2003, contains computer, medical and physical therapy labs; a spacious library, comfortable classrooms, extensive security features, and ample student parking on the premises.

Our institution offers associate's and bachelor's degree programs in the fields of business, criminal justice, health sciences, information technology, and legal studies. In addition, we recently added a Master of Science in Professional Counseling. Small classes are the norm, and students receive personal attention from faculty and administrative staff. Instructors possess the necessary academic credentials to provide a quality education and some have years of real-world experience in their professional fields.

The University's mission, unique in higher education in Alabama, is "to provide to students from throughout the state an affordable, geographically accessible 'small college' public higher educational experience of high quality, with a strong emphasis on undergraduate liberal studies and with professional programs supported by a broad base of arts and sciences, designed for their intellectual and personal growth in the pursuit of meaningful employment and responsible informed citizenship."

As the only public liberal arts university in the state, Montevallo enjoys its singular status as a draw for some of the state's brightest young minds.

Four colleges -- the College of Arts and Sciences, the Michael E. Stephens College of Business, the College of Education and the College of Fine Arts -- make up Montevallo's broad fields of study, which include opportunities for majors in a variety of subjects. The current student/faculty ratio is 16 to one.

A member of Division II of the NCAA, the University is competitive at championship levels in several sports. UM fields 10 intercollegiate sports teams. The school recently joined the Peach Belt Conference.
