If you connect your converter box and don’t pick up the channels you think you should using the automatic channel scan, here’s a tip. You may be able to force your converter box to look for a specific channel. For example, if you don’t get channel 8 on your auto channel scan, you may be able to enter the number 42 just like you would a channel number on your converter box, then move the antenna around until you are able to lock onto the signal. Move the antenna slowly.

Depending on which converter box you have, you may have to run a new auto scan once you lock on to the signal, or it may automatically add it to the channel list.
