For the past 75 years, the Roman Catholic Church in West Alabama has been on a mission to meet the basic needs of people living in poverty in the Black Belt area.

The Edmundite Missions is a Catholic organization that provides food, clothes and shelter to people in need.

The group operates the Bosco Food Center in Selma which feeds about three hundred people every day of the year.

"As Catholics we believe that faith and action must be one in order for us to carry out the mandate of Christ to serve the least of these," said Edmundite Missions Executive Director Chad McEachern.

The Edmundite Missions also provides food through the brown bag and meals on wheels programs.
