It's time once again for crunching numbers, piles of homework and hitting the books.  School is in full swing and sometimes teachers don't receive the recognition they deserve for their hard work.

CBS 8 news heads to Georgia Washington Junior High School in Montgomery County to recognize a teacher for a job well done.

He encourages his 7th and 8th grade students to take the ACT while they are in junior high school.  Over the past couple of years, his students have scored in the upper twenties when taking the test for the very first time.

Turning negatives into positives while increasing student's knowledge is what 7th and 8th grade math teacher Curtis Rice is all about.

Students say he's a one of a kind teacher who makes learning fun.

Rice says that the worlds most important resource is the children.
