ADHD Impairs Driving Performance for Teens

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD significantly impairs driving performance for teenagers.

Researchers at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center used a driving simulator to test 16- and 17-year-olds and found drivers with ADHD had significantly more variability in speed and lane position, even with no distractions present.


They found texting affected speed and lane position for all teen drivers in the study.
