Breastfeeding May Not Help Your Child Fight Off Obesity

More evidence that breastfeeding does not prevent a baby from becoming obese later in life.

Researchers divided nearly 14,000 mothers and infants into two groups – one attended a program that encouraged breastfeeding, the other did not.

The children who were in the program were breastfed longer, but at 11 and a half years old, they did not have a lower body mass index or waist circumference than the children in the control group.
