Concussions Having Lasting Effects on The Brain

When children suffer concussions the effects on the brain last for months.

In fact, long after the symptoms of the injury are gone, changes to the brain's white matter still show up through advanced imaging techniques.

The study in the journal of neuroscience and suggests doctors may want to monitor children with advanced imaging as they recover from brain injuries.

And it raises new questions about when it is safe for a child to resume physical activities after a concussion.
