Fewer Teens Having Weight Loss Surgery

The number of teenagers who undergo weight loss surgery has leveled off in the past decade.

Bariatric surgery jumped in popularity in the early 2000's.

Researchers in Washington found since 2003 the number of procedures has plateaued to about 1,000 a year.

Minimally invasive laparosopic procedures have become most popular.

About a third of all children in the U.S. are overweight or obese.
