Finding Motor Delays Early in Children

A new report advises pediatricians to evaluate children with possible motor delays during checkups at 9, 18 and 30 months.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends doctors observe children rolling over, crawling, walking and grasping objects.

If any problems are detected, the children should be referred to early intervention or special resources.
