Gestational Diabetes Poses Risks After Your Baby is Born

Women who are diagnosed with gestational diabetes during pregnancy face a significantly higher risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes in the future.

Researchers in South Korea found 12 percent of mothers who had gestational diabetes developed the chronic condition within two months of giving birth.

The study also found that as many as half of the women developed the disease within eight years of giving birth.
