Giving People Incentives to Get Moving

Using a financial incentive may be a way to get people to exericse more.

A health insurance company gave obese people a choice.

They could commit to walking 5,000 steps a day or pay a 20-percent increase in their health insurance.

Most chose the exercise, and a follow up study found that 97-percent of them stuck with it for a full year.
