If you're confused over conflicting messages about Vitamin D, a government advisory panel's recommendations won't help.

They say taking daily low doses of Vitamin D or Calcium won't prevent bone fractures.

For higher doses, the panel says the evidence is too limited to make recommendations.

It also says there's insufficient evidence Vitamin D prevents cancer.

Some studies have connected Vitamin D with lower rates of some cancers, but the panel says more studies are needed.
