How Effective Are Your Antibiotics?

British researchers say the commonly prescribed antibotic Amoxicillin is ineffective for treating severe coughs, and bronchitis.

A new study looked at more than 2,000 adults with respiratory infections.

Some received Amoxicillin and others received a placebo.

Researchers say there was little difference in how severe or how long the symptoms lasted between the two groups.

Many patients who took the drug also suffered side-effects.
