New research shows weight loss surgery can reverse the effects of kidney disease.

Doctors in Taiwan looked at severly obese people with the condition.

They found a year after bariatric surgery those patients saw significant improvements in kidney function.

Researchers say weight loss lowers blood pressure and blood sugar levels, the two main culprits of kidney disease.
