New Treatments are Helping Diabetics Live Longer

Fewer diabetics are dying.

The Centers for Disease Control says death rates among diabetics dropped 23 percent from 1997 to 2006.

Doctors believe new treatments have made it less likely heart disease or stroke will kill diabetics.

Researchers say people with diabetes are still more likelly to die younger but the gap is narrowing.
