Processed Meat Linked to Death

A new study of half a million people shows a link between processed meat and premature death.

Researchers found people’s risk of dying early from cancer or heart disease increased with the amount of processed meat they ate.

The study estimated that 3 percent of premature deaths each year could be prevented if people consumed less processed meats like hot dogs and sausage.
