Radiation Treatments May Not Help Some Patients

Some elderly lung cancer patients may be getting unnecessary radiation treatments.

A new study shows that radiation therapy after surgery does not improve the chance of survival for patients with stage three lung cancer which has spread to nearby lymph nods.

Researchers say some patients are subjected to radiation side effects without any benefit.
