Reaching Puberty Early Could Cause Problems Later in Life

Girls who reach puberty early could be at increased risk of psychological problems.

Researchers say higher levels of sex steroids, normally seen in older girls, can cause emotional distress for younger girls as their bodies change faster than their peers.

The study also found the girls are at increased risk of sexual abuse and early pregnancy.
