Women are more likely than men to have post traumatic stress after being treated in the intensive care unit.

Researchers say receiving life saving treatment can cause PTSD in patients, but women are more at risk for long term problems like depression and anxiety.

The Journal Critical Care also reports that those at high risk respond well to psychological treatment.
