Rice May Contain High Levels of Lead

Rice imported from certain countries contains high levels of lead that could pose health risks, particularly for infants and children.

That’s the findings presented at the meeting of the American Chemical Society.

Only seven percent of rice consumed in the United States is imported, but rice imports are on the rise.

The research found rice from Taiwan and China contained the highest levels of lead.
