Study: More Regulations Needed for Hip Replacement Process

Doctors implant hundreds of thousands of hip replacements each year, but a new study suggests the regulation process for his replacements needs improvements.

Researchers in the UK found that nearly eight percent of the devices were implanted without adequate evidence they’ll work properly.

The study in the British Medical Journal says in light of the high failure rate of hip replacements there should be a better system for regulating new orthopedic devices.
