Taking Cortisone Has Negative Side Effects

Some medications containing cortisone may increase the risk of a disease of the pancreas.

Researchers in Sweden found that patients taking cortisone in tablet form had a 70-percent higher risk of developing acute pancreatitis.

They did not find an increased risk from aerosol cortisone, such as inhalers used for treating asthma.
