Teens Gain Weight While Watching TV

By Molly Clifton

Another study in the journal Pediatrics finds children and teens who spend more time watching television versus using other electronic media tend to have a higher body mass index.

The authors say TV ads for unhealthy foods may be a bad influence, and many kids who eat while watching tv are distracted and don’t realize when they are full.

The researchers analyzed the media habits of about 90 teenagers.
