The Flu Vaccine Can Help Your Heart

Getting a flu shot may not only prevent you from getting the bug, it may also help lower your risk of a heart attack.

Cardiovascular problems have been linked to respiratory tract infections often caused by the flu. 

So researchers in Toronto looked into whether flu vaccinations lowered cases of heart failure and heart attacks.

They found among patients with coronary artery disease, those who received the vaccine were half as likely to develop a major heart event compared to those who did not get the vaccine.
