The largest study ever on the health benefits of eating nuts shows people who eat almonds, cashews, pistachios, and other tree nuts every day had a 20 percent lower death rate than those who didn't.

The study published in the New England Journal of Medicine involved almost 120 thousand people.

It was paid for by the International Tree Nut Council.
