The Risks of Antibiotics

More than two million people in the United States get infections that are resistant to antibiotics every year and at least 23,000 people die from them, that's according to a first ever report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Federal health officials say overuse of antibiotics is leading to resistance and that up to 50 percent of antibiotic prescriptions are unnecessary.
