Treating Obesity with Weight Loss Surgery

A review of recent studies finds weight-loss surgery is more effective than diet and exercise for obese patients.

The analysis found patients who underwent the bariatric operations lost more weight and had higher remission rates of Type 2 Diabetes than those who chose non-surgical treatment.

Researchers caution it’s unclear if the benefits hold up after two years.
