Your Child's Diabetes Drug May be Failing

Metformin is currently the standard treatment for young people with type 2 diabetes.

New research finds it is not effective for many of those patients.

A study in the New England Journal of Medicine found that Metformin had a much higher failure rate among kids ages 10 to 17 compared to adults treated with the drug.

Results were much better when Metformin was combined with another diabetes drug.
