Your Child's Diabetes Drug May be Failing
Metformin is currently the standard treatment for young people with type 2 diabetes.
New research finds it is not effective for many of those patients.
A study in the New England Journal of Medicine found that Metformin had a much higher failure rate among kids ages 10 to 17 compared to adults treated with the drug.
Results were much better when Metformin was combined with another diabetes drug.
