What would you do if your house is burglarized? Call your insurance company? Hire a repairman to fix the damage?

Not everyone has the means to do that. That's where a special group comes in, to help those people get back on their feet.

Neighbors in Christ needs help - money, of course, but also volunteers who can help, and donated materials like doors, locks, windows, etc.
