BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Forecasters say isolated storms are expected across much of Alabama late Wednesday night into Thursday.

The National Weather Service projects that the main threats from the storms will be damaging straight-line winds, hail and heavy rain.

Isolated tornadoes will also be possible.

Forecasters say plenty of Gulf air surging northward combined with strong dynamic conditions aloft will leave to a large threat for heavy downpours.
