The public broadcasting magazine Current says the CFO and Executive Director at APT were ousted after they objected to airing religious videos.

www.Current.org quotes Alabama Public Television CFO Pauline Howland as saying she and Executive Director Allan Pizzato had "grave concerns" over the videos from a Texas preacher that advocate the message that  the founders of the country had religious motivations.

The two were fired and told to clean out their desks on Tuesday following a meeting of the Alabama Educational Television Commission.

APT closed its Montgomery production facility in Madison Avenue last year, eliminating almost a dozen positions. The network of nine stations has gone through a series of funding cuts from the state.
