It's been a week full of turmoil for Alabama State University starting with the president being placed on administrative leave.

In a tense board meeting Monday evening, the board of trustees decided to place president Joseph Silver on administrative leave with pay. Silver says he did nothing wrong, just questioned some financial spendings within the university.

More than 500 students and faculty members gathered on campus Tuesday to show support for Silver. They held marches and even bombarded a university press conference begging for answers.

State Representative John Knight defended the decision to suspend Silver and denied allegations of financial misconduct at the university.

On Wednesday, Silver spoke to the media once again. He says after pressing issues about the way money was being spent and deciding to fire executive vice president John knight and another administrator, he was suspended.

Thursday, the university released the so-called letters of termination that Silver claimed he sent to John Knight and Danielle Kennedy.

The letters are actually one sentence emails sent from Silver's i-phone during Monday's board meeting in which he was placed on administrative leave.

The university's general counsel says those emails do not meet state and federal due process requirements and are, therefore, invalid.

Thursday night ASU students plan to have a sleep-in protest at the acadome.

Friday morning at 10, the full board of trustees will meet to discuss Silver's future.

Governor Bentley will be there as well.

CBS 8 News will have crews at the meeting, and bring you the latest developments.
