Two candidates for chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court have picked up endorsements.
Former gubernatorial candidate Tim James threw his support to former Chief Justice Roy Moore. The Alabama Forestry Association endorsed former Attorney General Charlie Graddick.
Association executive vice president Chris Isaacson said Graddick exemplifies conservative values and was a catalyst for creating a two-party system in Alabama.
James said Moore is a man of integrity who is not controlled by special interests. They face incumbent Chuck Malone in the Republican primary on March 13.
James is the Greenville businessman who finished a close third in the Republican primary for governor in 2010. His father, former Gov. Fob James, supported Moore is his unsuccessful effort to keep his Ten Commandments monument in the state judicial building in 2003.
