Alabama voters will head to the polls in September to decide on how to fund state services after lawmakers passed a very lean general fund budget this week.

The state passed a general fund budget with drastic cuts to medicaid and corrections.

So voters will decide if lawmakers can tranfer $150 million from the oil and gas trust fund.

Legislators say they believe voters will turn out to the polls on September 18 to vote "yes". The fiscal year starts October 1.

If the constitutional amendment is approved, $150 million will also be transferred in 2013 and 2014.

If it doesn't pass, lawmkers will go back into special session.
