Birmingham Traveling Civil Rights Exhibit on Display in Selma

From the West Alabama Newsroom-- A traveling civil rights exhibit commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement in Birmingham makes a stop in Selma.

The exhibit showcases the history of the struggle for civil rights in the city of Birmingham in 1963.
It arrived in Selma from Atlanta Monday morning and it'll be on display at the riverfront reception hall for the next three weeks.

"You can see some of the things that took place in the movement," said Carolyn Johnson with the city of Birmingham. "Some of us weren't alive, we weren't born yet but it's just showing, sharing a part of what happened in the move-- during the movement."

Other stops for the exhibit include Montgomery-- Jackson, Mississippi-- Memphis, Tennessee-- and Washington DC.
