Bullock County High Makes Changes After Failing Status
When Bullock County High School showed up on the failing school list, they didn't sit and make excuses. Instead, they worked to get their school back on track.
This year they added 30 minutes to the school day and an intervention course. School leaders divided students based on what they needed to work on for graduation exams. The class is dedicated to preparing for those exams and the ACT's.
Toangela Glaze, a senior said, "We're shooting for that 95 percent graduation rate. And I feel pretty confident that we're going to achieve it."
The state will be at the school next week doing an academic audit. That way the state can give the school specific goals to work on in the classrooms.
