Family members and loved ones of fallen Montgomery police officers continue to remember those they have lost.

Groups of people gathered on the steps of the Capitol building tonight for the annual Concerns of Police Survivors or COPS which honors those lost in the line of fire.

COPS hosts the candlelight vigil to offer a special retreat for those who have recently lost a loved one, but families and friends weren't the only ones present; Montgomery's Firefighters, police officers and other first responders were present to show support.

"It's a hard thing to come here and be a part of this, just because you have to remember your love," said Charrlene Thompson who lost her father in the line of fire.

Loved ones placed roses on memorials

This was not your usual candlelight vigil, though.

Flickering flames were swapped out for glow sticks.
