Candidates Interview for Dallas Co. School Superintendent

From the West Alabama Newsroom--   The Dallas County School Board interviews superintendent candidates hoping to find the right person to lead the school system.

Superintendent Dr. Fannie Major-McKenzie is retiring on November 1st after nine years on the job.

School board President William Minor says eight strong candidates applied for the job and the top five candidates were brought in for interviews.

"We need a person strong academic wise and we need a person that's open to career tech," said Minor. "We're trying to find the best most knowledgeable person we can find."

The Dallas County School System is made up of thirteen schools -- and serves more than four thousand students.
