Charter schools are expected to be a hot topic in Alabama during this year's legislative session. But what are they?

Some lawmakers and Gov. Robert Bentley say they would give students another choice when it comes to getting a good education.

While others, including the Alabama Education Association, say they would take money away from Alabama's traditional public schools.

Right now, Alabama is one of only 10 states without charter schools. We get opinions on whether that should change.
