Greenville city officials have bought a 300,000 sq. ft. building... an effort city leaders say could bring future jobs.

The building used to be home to the manufacturing plant "WestPoint Home," but since the company left two years ago, the building has been vacant.

City leaders say they bought the building for $750,000 thanks to city and county funding.

Greenville mayor, Dexter McLendon, says he cannot disclose whether there are any business prospects, but he says this is the first step to start negotiating with businesses to come to the city.
