Cloverdale Bar Granted Liquor License

The Montgomery City Council has approved the liquor license for a new bar in the Cloverdale area.

Graham Woods Neighborhood Pub is now allowed to serve alcohol.  The city council denied the application before.

Coucilmen say that's because owner Mike Watson owns 3 other bars, which had allegedly served drinks to minors.

Watson promised the council his employees were trained to prevent those problems.

But not all council members seemed sure.  Montgomery city councilman Arch Lee says, "I would ask you to work extremely hard to make sure that you avoid any hiccups you've had in the past. I have some reservations but i'm going to move forward. I move for adoption."

The new pub has also drawn controversy for the parking problems it could create in the Cloverdale area.
