Community Mourns After Fatal Wreck in Marengo Co. Kills Two

From the West Alabama Newsroom--  People in Marengo County are mourning the loss of a Demopolis Middle School student and a former Linden High School football star. They both died in a car crash over the Labor Day weekend.

The flag at Demopolis Middle School is flying at half-staff and grief counselors are on-hand to help students deal with the sudden loss of a classmate.

"That's the biggest obstacle with our children, being able to help them cope with death," said DMS Principal Blaine Hathcock.

Seventh grader C-J Boykin and his uncle -- 19 year old Anthony Robinson, Junior were killed when the S-U-V Robinson was driving collided with an 18-wheeler Sunday on Highway 43 near Linden.

"I feel for our students, I do. I feel for the children, our teachers, especially C.J's family, Anthony's family who I did not know. I know my thoughts, prayers as well as the thoughts and prayers of the entire Demopolis City School system is going their way," said school superintendent Al Griffin.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
