Former Auburn University football players Ed Christian and Ladarious Phillips, and Auburn student Demario Pitts, all 20-years-old, are confirmed dead after a Saturday night shooting at an off-campus apartment complex, Auburn Police Chief Tommy Dawson said at a press conference Sunday afternoon.

Three others suffered gunshot wounds. They are current AU football player Eric Mack, 20; John Robertson, 20; and Xavier Moss, 19.

A police press release says Moss was treated and released. Mack has been admitted to East Alabama Medical Center and Robertson was transferred to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

The shooting happened Saturday at about 10:00 pm at  the University Heights apartment complex during a party in the clubhouse.

A manhunt is now underway for suspect 22-year-old Desmonte Leonard of Montgomery. Chief Dawson says law enforcement is looking in the Montgomery area for Leonard.

Police say Leonard fled the scene of the shooting in a vehicle along with two other men. The vehicle was later found abandoned off Wire Road in Macon County.

Leonard is considered armed and dangerous. Three warrants for Capital Murder have been obtained on Leonard.

Police says they are also working to locate and question the two men who fled with Leonard. Their identities are not being released at this time.
