Update:Selma Man Charged in Deadly Nightclub ShootoutOne person is dead and another person is critically injured during a shootout at a Selma nightclub early Friday morning. Police Chief William Riley says a total of six people shot at the club. It happened at around 1:30 at Club Entourage on the 1200 block of Alabama Avenue in downtown Selma. The club's owner Clyde Richardson says the shooting happened when some men who had been put out of the club came back with guns-- and tried to force their way back in. "They couldn't accept the fact that they was put out," said Richardson. Corey Booker of Selma was killed in the shootout and Rodney Aaron of Selma is in critical condition. Police have issued warrants for Aaron's arrest. "We're issuing warrants for felony murder and four counts of attempt murder," said Police Chief William Riley. Richardson was asked how incidents like this one could be prevented. "Start raising your children at home. Raise them. We got a generation out there that didn't get raised, and they out there, from 18 to 30, some of them parents didn't raise them," he said. "The law is the law, abide by it. That's all you got to do." Chief Riley says the injuries to the other victims are not believed to be life-threatening. He says Club Entourage will remain closed while the investigation is underway. Most Viewed |
