Dorms Reopen at Concordia College Alabama in Selma

From the CBS 8 West Alabama Newsroom--  College life is getting back to normal for some Concordia College-Alabama students in Selma-- who were forced to live off campus last semester after their dorms were damaged by flooding.

About a hundred students were forced to live at hotels last semester after flash flooding caused by remnants of Hurricane Isaac -- damaged two dormitories. Both buildings have been renovated. School officials re-dedicated the dorms Wednesday morning and welcomed the formerly displaced students back to campus.

"The students never given up on their education, and they got what they need, so now they are back to their home," Concordia President Dr. Tilahun Mendedo.

School officials also unveiled a new Interactive Learning Center on campus. The new facility is complete with a small deli, a computer lab, conference space, a campus safety office and a lounge area.
