The kegs are flowing in Troy and many residents were taking advantage of newly legal draft beer in the city.

Today was the first day of legal on-site draft beer sales in Troy.

All State Beverage says they've already installed taps for five different restaurants and bars and are anticipating another five or more.

It's been a months long process of getting the legislation through state government and back to the city.

It started as a petition at Sips on the Square and the owners say they didn't expect it to come to fruition before the fall, but they say this is great timing.

Lyndsay Taylor,  Sips On The Square said, "Perfect weekend for this to be going on, Troy Fest this weekend so we are expecting huge crowds to come in. We are super excited about that."

Residents and leaders are hoping this may attract potentially larger chain restaurants to Troy.
