From the West Alabama Newsroom--  The Attorney General's office raids four electronic bingo halls in Greene county -- and seizes cash and machines.

Frontiers -- and River's Edge in Knoxville -- along with Green Charity -- and Greenetrack Bingo in Eutaw -- were all shut down and searched Monday morning.

Authorities seized more than a thousand gambling machines during the raid -- and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Greene County residents say the raids violate the voting rights of all the people in the county who voted for electronic bingo.

"Our votes have been thrown out the window, disregarded you know, and it wasn't a close vote by the way. It was an overwhelming vote for electronic bingo," said Greene Co. resident Jerry Brown.

Authorities say the seized machines and money will be held as evidence and will be subject to forfeiture procedures in Greene County Circuit Court.
